Well that went by quick! I’ve already reached my reading goal of 50 books this year and we aren’t even half way through the year yet!
When I set my reading goal for the year I hadn’t expected to become a blogger or to be temporarily part of a book club that reads 5 books a month. I really just based my goal off of my inability to make it to 50 last year (1 book away!).
Looking back I can see what kept me from reaching my goal. Last year I was finishing my program at college, working part-time, and completing my work placement for school. It was tough to get any reading done that wasn’t for class. Even though this is the third program I have completed (life-long student, right here!) I have yet to figure out how to be a good student and still have a life. My poor husband is a very understanding man.
So this year, with nothing but two jobs to worry about (HA!) I have managed to read far more than I have in the last few years. I’m thrilled! I hope I can keep up this pace because I love being able to post about all the books I read. I hope you are all enjoying reading about my books. 🙂
Do you have a reading goal for this year? What is it? Are you on track, falling behind, or way ahead?
My reading goal for this year is 25 books, but given school and everything else that has been going on this year, I haven’t got as much reading done as I would have liked. I’ve read 8 books so far this year, currently on my 9th but I am two books behind schedule. I may shift my goal if it seems like I’m not going to reach it!

I didn’t realize how much school affected my reading habits until I actually set myself a goal. It’s so hard to find time to read when you also have classes to worry about. Keep going, and if you change your goal, well then, you change your goal. No one is going to call you on it. 🙂

Neither did I! I was like at the beginning of this year, I can read 30 books easy! Then school happened and I realised 30 was never going to be possible, so I adjusted it. I barely have time to read aside from just before I go to bed and on the bus to and from school, and now that I have exams it’s even worse! That’s exactly what I’m planning to do, if I have to cut 5 or even 10 books from my goal, it doesn’t matter as long as I enjoy what I read!

That’s awesome! Congratulations on meeting your goal so quickly! My goal for this year is 75 books and I’m already done with 63 books so I don’t think I’ll have any trouble exceeding my goal this year! .

Thanks! I was surprised at how fast it happened. I’m in a bit of a reading slump now though. It’s like I hit 50 and don’t know where to go from there.

Congrats on completing your challenge! I was only aiming for eighteen books this year because I’m so busy, and somehow I completed that in a few months.
Also I really enjoy your blog, so I nominated you for the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award! Check out my post to find out more about it: https://caffeineandbooks42.wordpress.com/2015/06/08/sisterhood-of-the-world-bloggers-award/
Happy reading! 🙂

Thank you so much for the nomination! I’m having so much fun blogging, I’m glad others are enjoying what I write. 🙂
Congrats on meeting your own challenge! I used to try for 100 books a year, but realized that I was too busy for that kind of commitment. If I get to that number this year I’ll be thrilled, but I know that around September my work schedule gets crazy so I’m not going to push myself.
Thanks again!
