Yesterday I got to go on a day trip to the Royal Botanical Gardens with a bunch of fellow booksellers thanks to the amazing people at Penguin Random House Canada! They wanted to have a mini-book club meeting for their adorable book called Robot in the Garden, so we all gathered for pretty flowers, yummy food, good friends, and a lot of laughs.
The day started out rather grey, and we were a bit worried that our adventure would be rained out. Luckily, by the time everyone made it to the gardens, the sun came out from behind the clouds. With the wonderful Jen and Jackie leading the way, we headed into the gardens for some fun.
I was too hungry to remember to take pictures of the food, but according to everyone it was all really good. There were plate sized steaks, adorable tea sandwiches, delicious grilled veggie salads, amazing fish, and wonderful quiche. Jen and Jackie kept us all very well entertained with their banter, and in the end Jen decided that she needs to start a podcast, so we should all look forward to that happening some day. You can also look forward to my review of Robot in the Garden which will be posted on June 29th!
I’ll just leave you with this video that speaks volumes about all the fun we had at the garden. Jen found a Celine Dion rose and proceeded to climb into the flower bed for this…
