Sunday Post – July 26, 2015

Caffeinated Book Reviewer that doesn’t have a theme, per se, it’s more of a weekly wrap-up. I’m going to use it to tell you about some of the other things that have happened in my life this week and give you a sneak peek at what’s coming up on the blog next week!

Sunday: My husband finally discovered the joys of Netflix (even though we’ve had a shared account forever) so we have been binge-watching episode of House M.D.  for the last couple of weeks. I also realized that my adult colouring book was waiting for me in the mailbox, so I spent an unhealthy amount of time diligently colouring in tiny lines and dots all evening.

Monday: One of our local authors just happens to be a Mr. Linwood Barclay, the bestselling mystery author. His new book, Broken Promise, technically comes out next week, but it’s not on our sales embargo list so we got to put it out early. And since he’s super awesome, he came in to sign all the copies we have. We just Tweet him and he shows up in the next day or so.

Tuesday: I found out that I might be a match as a liver donor for my niece, so now I’m filling out all the paperwork, looking into what I need to do for work, and figuring out what I need to do to prepare for this in case I pass all the medical tests. Apparently only 30% of those who apply to be a live donor actually have the procedure done. Usually they find something along the way that disqualifies the donor, but I’m going to try anyway.

Wednesday: I downloaded this app that is supposed to help you remember to drink more water since I have a bad habit of dehydrating myself when I’m focused on things. Whenever you take a drink you are supposed to water this cute little plant, but the amount of water that it wanted me to drink was way too much. My body clearly wasn’t absorbing all the water I tried to put into it because I was visiting the washroom every 30 minutes or so.

Thursday: Since I was done work at 4pm, I got to go on a short hike with my husband, the dog, and our friend from the dog park. Cali (our dog) and Charlie (her dog) are best friends. They don’t mind other dogs coming over to play, but the both prefer to have the undivided attention of my husband. He’s been called a Dog Whisperer by just about everyone we know because ALL the dogs just love him.

Friday: Just another awfully boring day at work. Sorry, no good stories to share for that day. Seriously, it was BORING! 😦

Saturday: Saturday was the first day in a month that I didn’t have a post. I had so many things going on that day, but I got home late and didn’t have the energy to share them. After spending most of the day in Toronto with Elyse (Just Murrayed) I went to a party with a bunch of people from work. We were celebrating the departure of three of our staff (in a good way), and brought back a bunch of the old crew because we all really like each other and miss spending time together. You can look forward to reading all about my Toronto adventure tomorrow.
