This week began one of my most favourite times of the year, Indigo Adopt A School! For all of you book lovers out there, this is when you can help high-needs schools across Canada put books in their libraries FOR FREE!
Every year elementary schools and Indigo bookstores across Canada team up to help put books into the hands of children. In stores, money is collected for local schools in need of new books, and online, people can adopt and donate to the school of their choice.
Now, I’m gonna be biased and promote the school that my own store is helping, but I encourage everyone to adopt the school of their choice. If you aren’t from Canada, don’t let that stop you! Every day you can adopt a school and help them in a contest to win an extra $10,000 for their library.
Remember, this is totally free. You are literally helping kids learn to read by giving up a couple seconds to adopt a school each day. Literacy for everyone!
