I really do enjoy joining linkups because it gives me the opportunity to discover new bloggers to interact with and follow. It also gives me great ideas for new posts, and ensures that my blog isn’t just full of the same thing over and over again.
Q: When you feature a book in your posts, do you include a book cover? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews)
A: I always include covers of the books I’m writing about because I know from personal experience that a fun or beautiful cover will catch a reader’s interest way faster than anything else. I think most of us are initially drawn to books because of their covers, especially if the book is by an author we aren’t familiar with. It has also been statistically proven that “posts that include images produce 650 percent higher engagement than text-only posts.”
Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Coffee Addicted Writer that runs from Friday to Thursday.
Visit other blogs in the list and comment on their posts. Try to spend some time on the blogs reading other posts and possible become a new follower. The purpose of the hop is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.
I can never resist a pretty cover either! That’s interesting with how much of a difference a visual makes with reader engagement.

I’m a cover snob, so I always add the cover.

I love me a good cover. I always post a cover on my reviews! It helps me “see” what the book might be about. It also shows me how serious the author feels about their book.
Found this because of your tweet! I’m new to the game and going to be looking around!

Oh yes, I definitely include the book cover too. I also think people remember books a lot by their covers, so it will help them remember the book.

It’s true – a striking or beautiful book cover will catch my interest and I’m much more likely to pay attention to whatever the blogger has to say about the book! I always include covers in my posts as well.

Covers are something I always use too. Covers catch an eye more than words.
I agree with you about joining in memes and linkups…I love finding new bloggers. Such fun.
Have a great weekend.
Happy Hopping!!

I definitely include the covers! My writing style tends to be wordy, so if readers feel like skipping over the details of what I’ve written then the cover is still there to grab their attention. On other’s blogs, I often find myself going back to re-read a post if the book cover grabs my attention.

I often include a cover. Sometimes, I dont because I am talking about several books and I think it would make the post too cluttered but if I am listing just a few books, I’ll add the corresponding covers or even a collage of the pictures.

Thanks for the intro to this book hop! I’ll check it out… I also think sometimes it’s easiest to know you have the right book (that was suggested) when the cover matches the one you saw in the post.

Definitely! I don’t always remember a title or author, but covers stick with me. Whenever I walk around the bookstore I’m always on the lookout for covers that I recognize from blogs.

I also try to include images in my posts. Whenever I read posts, or even articles, on a screen, I realize that I’m more likely to stick around if I see a photo or other visual thing somewhere in the post. I like to know that there will be breaks in the text, which makes it seem like the post will be a quick read even if it’s not.
…I think I’ll participate in this meme thing.

Yay! It’s fun, and a great way to bank posts for those weeks when you are too busy to write a lot. They have come up with enough questions to write well into 2018, so you can prep a bunch right away.

Great! That’s exactly what I need for my Weekend Reads posts, which are discussions, cause I often run out of ideas.
