Q: When you enter an unfamiliar house or apartment for the first time, do you feel disappointed if you don’t see any bookshelves, or books on the coffee table? (submitted by Maria @ A Night’s Dream of Books)
A: I honestly don’t go looking for books in people’s homes… maybe it’s because I usually already know people before I enter their living space, so I know what to expect. I am a super-introvert, so I don’t go to other people’s homes often unless they are good friends or family. I do like to look at the books that those people have in their homes though. I like knowing what they find interesting enough to invest time in.

Occasionally. I have a friend who doesn’t read much, and is someone I would expect to read non-fiction when she does, but she loves Ishiguro’s books.
