Q: What platform do you use for your blog? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews)
A: Well, as I’m sure you can see, I use WordPress. I like the community feel of it. I can follow people, and add likes and comments easily. I’ve tried some of the other popular blog platforms but don’t like their interface as much. There are some things I wish WordPress could do, but overall it has worked well for me for years.
Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Coffee Addicted Writer that runs from Friday to Thursday. Visit other blogs in the list and comment on their posts. Try to spend some time on the blogs reading other posts and possible become a new follower. The purpose of the hop is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers.
I totally agree about the ease of the social aspect.

WordPress kind of reminds me of my Livejournal days when friends just followed each other. That sense of community is really important to me as a blogger.

If you use WordPress.org, it feels very lonely. WordPress.com never feels like you’re alone in the blogosphere 😊🙌

Hi,
I’ve used blogger for years and feel comfortable with it.
Have a great day!

I think many of us start with one platform and become so familiar with it that it’s hard to switch to anything else. I’ve tried Blogger a few times and just can’t get the feel for it. Thanks for stopping by!

I’ve used Blogger from the start and am happy with it. I was part of a group blog on WordPress for a short while and didn’t take to it as well. I do think WordPress has better comment options than Blogger does. I hope you have a great week.

I absolutely agree! I left for about 5 years – and coming back even with the upgrades everything was still easy to use and managed to fall back in with no issues in no time at all.

I originally started out on Blogger but got frustrated with the restrictions and was tempted away to WordPress.com with all their widgets, customisation options and formatting in 2017. On 30th April I decided to go down the self-hosting route and found an affordable deal – Flora’s Musings is now a WP.org self-hosted blog! 💜😊 I’m hoping the easy socialisation will still apply. 😉
I hope you enjoy the rest of your week, Amanda, stay safe and healthy.

I’m pretty well established with Blogger so I stay there, but it has felt stale and stodgy to me for years. I have dabbled in WordPress, which has a lot of advantages, but I never had time to get acquainted with the layout options. If I were buildig a site from the ground up I’d probably start there.
