Well, the dumpster fire that was 2020 is over and we are 3 days into whatever 2021 has in store for us. Like many, I spent the last year considering what my life could have been if I wasn’t so afraid. Would I work so much? Would I have taken more vacations? Would I have started or ended certain relationships? Would I have pursued my passions?
Writing and blogging have always been something that I really enjoy, but I couldn’t do it for a while because I was overwhelmed by the expectations I thought people had of me. Book bloggers are an incredible group of people, but we are all more than the sum of the books we read. I have so many more hobbies that I wanted to write about but was scared to mix it with my book stuff because it isn’t done. Well, this is my blog, and it’s my journey, and yes, books are a large part of it, but I’m going to be writing about more from now on. There is so much more to my life, so I’m going to share it.

I was hoping to use this section to share what new books I found around the store, but since we are in Lockdown 2.0, that won’t be happening this month. Instead I’ll share one of the new cozy mystery series that I’ve discovered this week.

One of my latest hobbies is building puzzles. I love the challenge, and enjoy finding new designs to keep me busy. This week I started this awesome Nancy Drew book cover puzzle that is probably going to drive me insane, but it’s so worth it. Haha! I don’t usually do anything with my puzzles once I am done with them, but this one I just might consider framing.
Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
I couldn’t build puzzles here with the cats around who would only be too happy to mess it up, but enjoy yours, it’s very original. Happy new year !

Haha, yes, I’m sure that doing a puzzle with cats around would be very difficult. My old cat loved to chew on the edges of hardcover books, so I’m sure she would have enjoyed these bite sized bits of cardboard. Happy New Year!

I’m so glad to hear that you’re letting go of expectations and posting what you want on YOUR blog! Isn’t that freeing? I’ve only recently read my first cozy mystery, but I really enjoyed it and want to read more. I’m looking forward to hearing what you think of the ones you picked up.

I love reading cozy mysteries about bookish people. It makes me feel like every one of us could be the next Sherlock Holmes. LOL

My favorite cozy mystery is Aunt Dimity’s Death by Nancy Atherton. The main character loves books and is even named Lori!
Hope you enjoy blogging this year and definitely do with it whatever you want. It’s so much fun to meet people through their individual interests.

Oh, I haven’t read that one yet! I’ll have to add it to my ever-growing list. Thanks for the recommendation. 🙂

I love the Nancy Drew puzzle! I think you should post what you want to post about as it is your blog. Some people think a blog should only focus on one type of books and I like lots of genres and so that’s what we review. Happy New Year!
