Book Blogger Hop: Critical examination

Q: Where do you post your reviews? (submitted by Elizabeth @Β Silver’s Reviews)Β

A: I don’t do a lot of reviewing these days, but when I do, it’s here at The Literary Counsellor. If I feel like I really want to share something with a wider audience, for whatever reason, I might post on Goodreads, but that’s it. I never review anything I buy on company websites. I totally use reviews by other people to help determine if I might want to buy something, so I know their value, and yet I just don’t feel compelled to do it. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

  1. I’ve done a lot of arc reading for Indie authors and they tend to expect reviews on Amazon and Goodreads, so I always post there, along with my blog and Bookbub. I post to NetGalley too if the book is from there.

    1. I’m so bad about posting reviews, which is why I had to stop accepting submissions from indie authors. It just wasn’t fair to anyone. My reading style is entirely too mood driven for me to make that kind of commitment. I have huge respect for any blogger who is able to take on all the arcs, indie submissions, and other books that are constantly being shared with us. πŸ™‚

  2. I review ARCs and so will post on the minimum sites like NetGalley or Edelweiss as that’s more often than not where I get them from. I don’t post reviews on bookstore websites, however, like Amazon or B&N. Mostly it’s my blog and Goodreads. I hope you have a great weekend!
